Stop letting your practice control you. Take back control.

If you don’t have control of your business, then your business has control of you. I've been there. And I'm here to tell you, it doesn't have to be this way. I joined a practice with an owner in the midst of burnout, and over the course of six months we reduced his hours by over 40% and gave him time to recover. Once he was rested he wanted to resume his original goal of providing a better practice for both clinicians and patients, and he wanted to grow. Over the next two years we grew revenue by 175%, profits by 488%, while reducing his hours by an additional 25%. At the same time we improved clinician training programs, satisfaction, compensation, and retention, and as a result patient outcomes and satisfaction. We didn’t succeed at the expense of our team, we succeeded with our team.

Why did you start your practice?

Why did you start your practice?

  • Was it to have more control of your schedule?
  • To improve the quality of patient care?
  • To have a better work culture?
  • To have more control of the presenting issues you work with?
  • To earn a higher income?
Did you realize running a practice would be this hard?

Did you realize running a practice would be this hard?

  • Are you working longer hours than you were before, but making less?
  • Do you find work creeping into your evenings and weekends?
  • Is it almost impossible to take a vacation?
  • Do you feel like there are a thousand things that need your attention, and you're not sure where to start?
My Mission

My Mission

I have a background in engineering, but found my passion when I pivoted from helping big companies produce parts more profitably to helping medical and paramedical practices to help their patients. The reality for most practices is time is very limited, and they’re lucky to find a few hours a month to spend thinking about how to improve how they do things. I've spent my entire career on efficiency, and the past 5 years focused solely on helping practices to accomplish their goals more efficiently. I’ve consumed countless books, podcasts, and blog posts on this topic, so you don’t have to. I have gotten to see what works across an industry, to help you tame your business, so you can focus on what matters: your patients. I believe what’s good for you, and what’s good for your team, is good for your patients. Taking care of yourself and your team is the way to bring out the best in them, which is what your patients need and deserve.

Proof of Practice Transformation

The best metric for success is the owner's peace of mind. Hear directly from healthcare leaders who have transformed their clinics from chaos to control and started leading with confidence.

As the owner of a busy psychotherapy clinic, I often felt like I was staring at a complex map without a compass. John from Lean Practice came in and quickly helped us gain crystal-clear visibility into the real risks and opportunities hiding within our operations. He didn't just point out problems; he gave us a focused, actionable plan. We now operate with a sense of calm control and are moving strategically toward our goals, instead of just reacting to the market.

Billing used to be a chronic source of anxiety and organizational drag in our pediatrics clinic. Lean Practice helped us completely processize and organize our entire billing system. The difference is night and day—it's now efficient and reliable. Crucially, they set up insightful analytics that give us early warning signs to address issues immediately, before they ever become significant financial or operational problems. I feel incredibly more organized and in control of our financial health.

Before working with John, my days were defined by 'firefighting'—constantly putting out operational emergencies but never stopping them from cropping up again. It was exhausting and unsustainable. Lean Practice helped us stabilize the entire practice by establishing solid, repeatable processes. I can honestly say I no longer spend my time battling recurring crises. The practice is stable, I have significantly less stress, and I finally feel empowered to lead, rather than just manage the chaos.

When the pandemic forced us to pivot our professional training programs online, the thought of the technical headaches and operational chaos was truly overwhelming. Lean Practice didn't just move us to a new platform; they designed a seamless, stress-free operational transition that felt completely supported. We maintained 100% of our enrollment and could focus entirely on delivering high-quality content, not troubleshooting tech. John gave us the confidence and clarity to handle one of the most stressful times in our business history.
